After hundreds of hours of preparation from the Owen Team and our Manufacturer Partners, 2,500 miles of travel, 1,000 lunches served and hundreds of bright orange camo hats doled out we’re calling the 2013 Road Shows and CAED Open House events a huge success.
Over four weeks in the month of June, we traveled to six cities in California and Nevada then held our CAED events in our Kent and Portland locations. Great weather for the Road Shows followed us into Oregon and Washington where only a few drops of rain fell on us at the tail end of the Kent event despite ominous forecasts for both days. Attendance levels reached an all-time high this year and we received great feedback from many of the attendees.
New to this year’s CAED was the ability to earn Oregon CEU credits by attending two classes given by Si Norris: “Line Locating” and “High Efficiency Jetting Tools.” Note that both of those classes are available upon request (just give us a call). Another addition to the CAED events were the Hydro-Excavation and high-pressure demonstrations given by Dave Armstrong. Jim Brown’s pipeline inspection presentations were well-attended in both Portland and Kent and Envirosight cameras feature demonstrations were as impressive as ever. Greg Read provided many attendees with a “brush up” on sweeping procedures and the nozzle demonstrations (as always) were a huge draw.
Over all, we displayed four Elgin sweepers, five Vactor combination units, a Vactor Hydro-Excavator, our new Envirosight RovverX camera van, our Falcon asphalt recycler, countless nozzles, push cameras, locators, hose reels, zoom cameras, the Vaporooter system and more. Special thanks go out to our manufacturing partners like Ken Billingham of KEG Technologies who attended every single event. Federal Signal (Elgin & Vactor) was there with Tony Cifone (Western Regional Service Manager) and Dan Federico (VP of Sales and Marketing). Chris Helliwell of Envirosight was another Road Warrior, sharing his expertise at every stop. Our friend, Dave Boyle, from Vulcan Scales was in Portland and Kent along with Jason Fearns from Vaporooter.
More goes into these road shows and open houses than anyone realizes. The whole experience has solidified my faith in our Team and vendors and I truly believe we have the best team in the business. Still I know we must always stay humble and remember that customer service and quality products are the true keys to our success.
