VAPOROOTER | GREASE RELEASE | SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER
MATERIAL SAFETY DATA
VAPOROOTER is a combination of herbicides that are placed in sewer lines as a foam for the purpose of eliminating roots and preventing further destruction of sewer pipe caused by live tree roots. Only roots within the pipe and a very short distance outside the pipe are effected. Trees and shrubs immediately above ground are not harmed. VAPOROOTER is composed of:
- An herbicide which pentrates root cell walls, bursts them and causes the root to die and decay.
- A root growth inhibitor which attaches to surface-active organic material to inhibit further root cell division or growth for approximately three years.
- A surfactant blend which strips away grease and slime from the roots permitting penetration for the formulation into the root mass.
- A foaming agent which provides a durable, fine-textured "vehicle" to carry Vaporooter into maximum contact with all roots and pipe surfaces.
FOAM-FILLED PIPE The foam-filling application method fills the air space above the sewage flow where roots grow. Generally this method is used to foam-fill smaller lines. The foam-filling method allows for some treatment of lateral lines in the process.
FOAM-COATED PIPES The patented foam-coating application method is designed for foam-coating the internal sewer walls of smaller lines which have light root intrusions. It can also be used to coat larger diameter lines that are too closely to treat any other way.
Advantages of Vaporooter
-
Vaporooter products contain Dichlobenil 50W, an extremely small particle Wettable Powder, which provides the longest suspension and most uniform distribution available for the root inhibiting herbicide. Simply put, Vaporooter stays mixed longer, and provides proven more uniform and longer lasting root control.
-
Vaporooter has been used successfully by municipalities for control of roots in sewers for over 25 years.
-
Recognized by EPA as an effective root control method. According to EPA 600/2-77-017a, Vaporooter is "the acceptable method of chemical control" and "no other method of control approaches the effectiveness found in Vaporooter".
-
Training is provided by the manufacturer ( at no additional cost ) in the handling and effective use of all Vaporooter products and equipment.
-
All Vaporooter FoamakingTEquipment come with a color-coded control panel with instructions located on the unit for ease in operation.

Benefits of Vaporooter
- Extends the life of collection systems.
- Saves budget dollars.
- Simplifies management tasks by reducing emergency calls.
- Increases crew productivity.
- Reduces blockages in the mains and service laterals, reducing citizen complaints and liability for sewer back-ups into homes.
- Inhibits root regrowth for an average of three years.
- Reduces infiltration, which causes treatment plant overloading.
- Trees and shrubs are unharmed.

VAPOROOTER | GREASE RELEASE | SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER
GREASE BUILDUP has always been a problem in sewers. Sewer agencies have tried using enzymes to eat the grease. Some have tried to blame the sources of the grease problems, but no one has come up with a successful way to reduce grease. UNTIL NOW…..
GREASE RELEASE is a unique blend of surfactants that penetrates and softens grease. GREASE RELEASE emulsifies grease so that it can’t re-adhere to pipe surfaces eliminating future problems. Simply mix GREASE RELEASE with water in your jet-cleaning machine and begin cleaning sewers more efficiently. When GREASE RELEASE is applied frequently a soapy residue will form on the wall of the pipe preventing grease from adhering.
Grease Release is a general-use degreasing agent that effectively reduces grease build-up in sewer pipes and helps keep sewers to free flowing conditions. Penetrates and breaks down grease into small particles that will not resolidify. Grease Release will enhance preventative maintenance programs by coating the pipe with a grease repelling barrier to minimize build up. It contains mild surfactants, that are biodegradable, non-caustic, and non-corrosive. Grease Release does not contain phosphates.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE IN JETTER TRUCKS
Sewer Maintenance Treatment Recommendations:
- Load tank with the desired volume of water
- Add one gallon of Grease Release for every 100 gallons of water and mix.
- Quickly jet up the line, against the flow at full pressure.
- Shut off jet system, wait 5 minutes.
- Retrieve hose at 1ft/sec at full pressure.
- No extra equipment required!
Grease Release is designed to work as an additive to the water in sewer jet cleaning equipment. The unique feature of this product is its ability to soften hard grease upon contact. Grease Release then works to break down grease in to small particles that will not resolidify further down the line. Grease Release is environmentally biodegradable, non-caustic and non-corrosive. A pipe treated with Grease Release retains a certain amount of active ingredient on the interior of the line. The coating serves to discourage further grease buildup. This product contains no hydrocarbons, as do most grease removers. Hydrocarbons are outlawed in most cities’ sewer systems. The use of a small amount of Grease Release in your jetter truck tank will aid your sewer maintenance program.

VAPOROOTER | GREASE RELEASE | SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER
SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER has been designed for convenient placement inside a standard pick-up bed. Its purpose is to create quality foam with VAPOROOTER herbicide for sewer root control.
The SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER utilizes your existing sewer jet cleaning hose. Together they place the SANAFOAM® VAPOROOTER®II or FOAM-COATT VAPOROOTER uniformly in the sewer pipe to destroy sewer roots which grow primarily above the flow line. The SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER can be equipped with a 100 or 200 gallon capacity solution tank. When 200 gallon solution tank is filled to capacity with VAPOROOTER solution and then mixed accurately with air through the control panel, it will produce up to 4,000 gallons of VAPOROOTER FOAM. This will treat approximately 1,600 lineal feet of 8" sewer pipe.
The SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER'S conrol panel is convenient and easy to operate because of its color-coded control system. When combined with your sewer jet cleaner by the use of a special dry break connector and hose, the SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER system utilizes the Jet-Foam™ Nozzle to propel the jet cleaner hose through the sewer line. The dual function Jet-Foam™ Nozzle then dispenses VAPOROOTER Foam uniformly throughout the length of the pipe as the jetter hose is being retrieved. Simple safe application permits treatment of all sanitary and some storm drain lines including "dead head" lines that could not be treated previously.
By combining the versatility of the SKID-MOUNT ROOTFOAMER, your existing jetter, and the Jet-Foam™ Nozzle, you have a winning combination which:
- Allows crews to treat an average of 4,500 lineal feet of 8" pipe daily.
- Reduces costly and repetitive root cutting.
- Reduces pipe damage caused by mechanical root removal.
- Allows your organization to implement a total ROOT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM with the benefits of an equipment supplier with over 25 years of sewer root control experience.
- The Skid Mount can be mounted on a tag along trailer.
- All equipment includes training and crew certification. For more information contact us.
